ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A while ago, I was a partner and chief operating officer in a major accounting firm, and latterly held the same role in an international law firm. It took me 36 years and several million air miles to do, arguably, what I should have done several years earlier: give up the day job and focus on a lifelong ambition to write thrillers. Page-turners. Action and adventure stories with twists and turns right to the very last page.

With few parts of the world that I have not seen first-hand, I try to use personal knowledge, connections and a professional interest in technology to craft fast-paced thrillers that are very much set in the real world. Locations that I know personally. Present-day plotlines that try to be as credible and true to life as possible. Fictional backstories to events currently in the public eye.

My wife and I live close to the city of Cambridge, England. Together we support several local charities, including the world-renowned Cambridge Union debating society where I am a trustee.

Page Turner Supreme! Once again David Robinson publishes a new Ben Lewis adventure when I am due to go on an international flight - and it doesn't half help to pass the time. Fast flowing, with multiple intertwined participants, much (necessary) violence with Lewis' military background standing him in good stead.. Great fun. Well done.

Sensational! Another great adventure involving the charismatic Ben Lewis character. A really enjoyable read with fast paced action and plenty of plot twists involving some familiar and believable characters. Certainly the best book yet. More please!

Truly gripping from start to finish! The best of Jack Reacher and Jack Ryan all rolled into one PLUS a UK setting. After many hours of total entertainment, I was thrilled to see 'To be continued' on the last page. If the sequel is as good, it'll be worth waiting for.

I love this type of book! I bought this to read on holiday next week but, foolishly, I started it yesterday evening and was up until 2am finishing it. Is Ben Lewis an English Jack Reacher in the making I wonder? I think he could be, this chess playing, motorbike fanatic former marine with attitude! More please, David!

I loved this book! It ends up with numerous people having side conversations or investigations that criss-cross back on each other (trying not to give anything away) and all wraps up nicely in the end (which is always nice).

A compelling read. David Robinson is bang up to date. His research is first class, his level of detail highly impressive and the topics could hardly be more contemporary. He lays his tangled web through the narrative and slowly draws it together as the tension mounts to dramatic and unexpected conclusion. It is easy to forget to breathe.

Absolute cracker! Sadly I had to wait until my holiday to read The Reluctant Trader but I wish I had found the time to read it earlier. It's by far David's best book yet, an absolute cracker. Fast paced, action packed with some lovely twists in the story line along the way that will keep the reader living the story. I did, I couldn't put it down. Great work David, I can't wait for the next book.

David N Robinson is a local  self published author. I hadn't heard of him till I picked up a promotional bookmark in the local butcher shop! The brief description appealed to me - Political/ espionage/ thriller what's not to like? The plot reminded me a little of le Carre's Night Manager but this is certainly not a rip off of that, this story stands on its own merit and I look forward to the film or at least a Sunday evening TV series.
